Minden, NV- On November 3rd and 4th, 2021 Maxton provided elevator control valve training classes for 20 elevator mechanics from Island Elevator in Bohemia, NY. These continuing education classes provided the mechanics with credits (4.0 credit hours) through the NAEC’s approved Certified Elevator Technician program. These sessions are made up of classroom instruction and practical application through valve adjustment and troubleshooting with the Maxton TA4M training unit.
Here are just a few comments from mechanics in attendance…
“The class given by your Maxton reps reminded me that you can always learn something new. I have 16 years in the elevator industry, and I was able to take multiple new steps from the presentation. Learning that I can actually run a car through the valves if I’m troubleshooting a shutdown will be extremely helpful. Thank you for coming and sharing your knowledge and I would highly recommend this course to anyone in the industry,” said Mike Skaee
“The learning experience on the valve itself helped me understand more on how the Maxton valves work . Plus anytime you get to try something new is always a good thing for your mind to process. So it’s definitely going to help me better myself and the craft that I love,” said Mike Garcia
“I am very glad we had the Maxton valve training class. The guys broke down the valve to individual parts and showed me parts that I didn’t even know existed…I enjoyed them putting us in scenarios that we could come across in the field…and just to tackle one problem at a time. After this class I found the troubleshooting guide a lot easier to comprehend and to diagnose the problem accurately. Overall very happy with my experience…,” said Evan Miller
“Actually, I used what I learned with Maxton’s training and applied it the next day to return an elevator back to service, it was a dirty coil,” said Joe Jacovina
“As a pretty green elevator person when it comes to valve adjustment, I thought the hands on training was exceptional. Gives the inexperienced a head start. Makes valves less intimidating. Excellent training,” said Zach Zukowski
“Jay Weichert reached out for CET classes for his team back in the fall of 2020 and it was great to finally make that happen. Island Elevator has a special group that demonstrated positive collaborative teamwork when resolving the hands on valve troubleshooting and adjusting. I can’t say I’ve seen an example like it in my 11 years of holding these trainings,” said Karl Keller Marketing Director.
