On May 16, 2011 the National Elevator Industry Educational Program (NEIEP) and Maxton Manufacturing worked together to supply UC4M valve cutaways, TA4M training units, and digital valve modeling tools for use in NEIEP classrooms across the US . NEIEP is getting ready to ship valve cutaways, which will be used as visual reference aids in their apprenticeship and continuing education courses, to local training programs in the coming weeks. A limited number of TA4M training units will be available for classroom use during the 2011-2012 school season.
This partnership between NEIEP and Maxton, a worldwide leader in elevator control valves and the largest single producer of elevator control valves in North America, will contribute greatly to the depth in education received by thousands of elevator professionals served by NEIEP in the coming years. While NEIEP now offers a series of courses in hydraulic installations that touch on the importance of the hydraulic valve, the collaboration with Maxton will introduce a specialized experiential learning component.
The Maxton equipment that will be used in NEIEP’s new valves course is an excellent resource for students and instructors, adding a new dimension to NEIEP’s classroom training in the intricate valve installation, repair, and service process. National Coordinator John Spinella is excited about the project, saying that “having these tools available will be a valuable asset to Apprentices as well as some of our experienced Mechanics who haven’t adjusted valve systems in a while. Being able to physically handle these tools in a classroom setting will help students learn about the complex and sometimes dangerous workings of hydraulic valve systems in a controlled environment, without the stress and pressure of encountering them for the first time – or the first time in a long time – on the job while under the gun.”
Maxton Manufacturing is equally enthusiastic. “These educational tools will provide students real world, hands on experience with adjusting, servicing, and repairing hydraulic elevator control valves prior to entering the field. Maxton is proud to play its part in shaping the confidence and competence of these future elevator professionals,” said Karl Keller, Marketing Director with Maxton.
Maxton Manufacturing Company is a worldwide leader in elevator control valves since 1968 and holds the distinction as the largest single producer of elevator control valves in North America (Made in USA). The company serves all OEM, new construction, modernization, replacement/repair and educational needs when it comes to hydraulic elevator control valves.
