Minden, NV– On January 24, 2014 Maxton Manufacturing Company was presented by SCATS with a certificate signifying the achievement of SHARP status. Attending the event were Joseph Giddings, Jana Morales, and David Murry from SCATS, Rob Reed and Scott Munson from Pro Group, James Settelmeyer NV State Senator and everyone from Maxton.
“The Safety Consultation and Training Section (SCATS) Program’s Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) recognize small business employers who operate an exemplary injury and illness prevention program. Acceptance of your worksite into SHARP from SCATS is an achievement of status that singles you out among your business peers as a model for worksite safety and health. Congratulations to Maxton Manufacturing for becoming one of the 25 Nevada employers that have achieved SHARP status,” said Joseph Giddings, CSP Consultation Supervisor for SCATS.
Some of the benefits of Maxton attaining SHARP status include reduced workers compensation costs, removal from OSHA impromptu inspections for two years, an enhanced open channel of communication with OSHA, and the positive employee recognition for this achievement. This puts Maxton in an elite group rated above the industry standard on not only a statewide, but a nationwide scale.
“This is a great achievement by Maxton Manufacturing Company. They are a true leader in their industry for providing a safe and healthy workplace for their employees and creating a safe working culture within the company. All employees at every level should be very proud of this recognition and should strive to maintain this status with OSHA. Great job and congratulations to all at Maxton Manufacturing Company,” said Rob Reed Pro Group Safety Supervisor Northern Region.
“I’m very proud of all of our employees and their dedication to maintaining a safe workplace which made this award possible,” said Kirk Muller Maxton Production Manager.
